Spectacular 1,000-acre site near Leesburg, Va. Home of Governor Westmoreland Davis (Gov: 1918-22). The Greek Revival estate and grounds are preserved for public use. 140,000 visitors per year tour the mansion and two other museums. Year-round equestrian competitions, hiking, forested trails, and new athletic fields. None of the rooms or items are roped off, and the displayed collection is extensive. 45-minute tour of the Davises collected antiquities and personal items.
